The Elden Ring respec system enables you to recreate your character by wiping out all of your previously acquired skill points and resetting them so that you can spend them in a different manner. To pay for the service, you will need Larval Tears, which are a resource that can be found in the game. In addition, you will need to have defeated a specific boss in order to gain access to the feature. Everything that was just mentioned is going to be discussed further down.
It is up to you to decide how you will put this power to use. Do you move around a few points in order to fine-tune the build you currently have? Or completely start over if you're unhappy with the stat that your character's development has been based on?
Whatever your reasons may be, we have covered every aspect of the Elden Ring respec in this article. We will walk you through the process of locating the character you need to find, the boss you need to take down, and the location of the Larval Tears you require in order to pay for everything. You will soon be able to create completely new characters from scratch by respending every point you've earned in Elden Ring. This feature will become available very soon. So, let's take a look at how the respec system operates.
How to Alter Your Stats and Change Your Specialization in Elden Ring
You need to have a conversation with a character known as Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, in order to respec your stats in Elden Ring. Rennala, on the other hand, is not your typical character; rather, she is an important boss in the game who must be vanquished before she can be made into a helpful NPC. Once she has been vanquished, Rennala will become more amicable.
When you have defeated Godrick and unlocked Liurnia of the Lakes, which is located to the north of Stormveil, you can find Rennala atop the tallest tower in Elden Ring's Raya Lucaria Academy. This massive sorcerous structure is located in the middle of Liurnia of the Lakes. You are specifically searching for the Raya Lucaria Grand Library, which is the boss arena in which Rennala is fought (or more accurately, where she is fought in part).
After the boss fight is over, she will transform into a helpful non-playable character (NPC) in the library. This NPC can be spoken to, and she will offer you a chance at Rebirth, which is the game's grandiose term for a respec. This simply grants you the ability to reallocate and redistribute all of the levels you've earned up to this point in any way you see fit, as well as the authority to completely reimagine your character's physical appearance from the ground up. Do you want to reduce the importance of your Strength power while increasing the importance of your Dexterity power? Do you wish to make the transition from Intelligence to Faith? Right now is your opportunity. Naturally, if you're curious about the specifics of what each attribute does, you can read up on the Elden Ring's statistics right here.
The one and only drawback to this is that every time you want to change your specialization, you will have to spend an extremely rare and unique item known as a Larval Tear. That constitutes a job in and of itself.
There are only a total of 18 Larval Tears to be found in Elden Ring (though some of them can be found in the same location), and there does not appear to be a way to farm them, at least not one that has been discovered so far. Despite their scarcity, they can be used in crafting. Below you will find a list of all of the known Larval Tears, organized roughly according to the order in which players are most likely to find them (though your own cheap Elden Ring items may differ). Larval Tears are typically dropped by enemies that transform into a completely different kind of foe when they are damaged. This is a recurring motif that can be found throughout the game. If you happen to come across any of these, chopping them down will almost certainly yield a Larval Tear for you.
A soldier who, when attacked, transforms into a bear can be found to the east of Agheel Lake South Site of Grace. Take his life in order to obtain a Larval Tear.(Limgrave)
When he is attacked, the soldier that can be found south of the Caelid Highway South Site of Grace transforms into a troll. You need to kill the troll in order to obtain the Larval Tear.(Caelid) A Larval Tear can be found in the graveyard of the Village of the Albinaurics, which is located to the south of the Academy.
(Liurnia) There is a Giant Lobster that, when attacked, reveals itself to be a Grafted Scion. This monster can be found to the east of the Rose Church, which can be found on the island south of the Raya Lucaria Academy.
Discovering the Resurrection Painting in the Artist's Shack to the northeast of Caria Study Hall will cause a spectral NPC to materialize in the graveyard to the east of Caria Manor, seated in a chair. Engage in conversation with them in order to obtain Larval Tear's and Scholar's garb. In order for you to enter this area, Royal Knight Loretta must first be eliminated. Pidia, a Carian Servant named (Liurnia), is a merchant who can be found on the cliffs to the southeast of the Three Sisters.
You can buy a Larval Tear from him for the price of 3,000 Runes if you descend to his level.(Liurnia) You can purchase a Larval Tear from the Nomadic Merchant who is located in the underground ruins of the Siofra River for 3,000 Runes.
(Siofra) Within the Woodfolk Ruins, which are located to the east of the Minor Erdtree, there is a cowering soldier that, when injured, transforms into a scythe lion.
You must first kill the lion in order to obtain the Larval Tear.(Altus Plateau) At the beginning of the Nokron area, the boss fight against the Mimic Tear will result in the drop of two Larval Tears.
(Nokron) To the southeast of Nokron is where you'll find the Eternal City Site of Grace. Inside a stone mausoleum, you'll find a dead body with a Larval Tear on it.
(Nokron) You can find it on a dead body inside the Gazebo at the entrance to Nokron; however, slimes will fall on you if you pick it up.
(Nokron) When buy PS Elden Ring Runes is defeated, the enormous silver ball that is chasing you in Night's Sacred Ground will leave behind a Larval Tear.
(Nokron) To the east of the Road of Inequities Site of Grace is where you'll find a demolished soldier camp with a charred undead that, when XBOX Elden Ring Runes takes enough damage, transforms into one of the Wormface foes.
You must slay the Wormface in order to obtain a Larval Tear. There are three more aggressive giant silver balls in the city area of Nokstella, and when they are killed, they all drop Larval Tears. These giant silver balls are located on Mount Gelmir.
(Nokstella) Located to the southeast of the Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace is a figure that is half-buried in the snow. It is surrounded by two other aggressive soldiers, one of which is holding a fiery torch.
When buy Elden Ring runes is confronted, the figure that is half-buried transforms into a bear. Take the bear's life if you want the Larval Tear.(Consecrated Snowfield) Given how uncommon Larval Tears are, you should approach respecs with extreme caution and ensure that you are content with the outcome before committing to one.
If the gap between you and the build you want to use is only a few levels, may be more beneficial for you to simply check out our locations for farming Elden Ring Runes and focus on leveling up the stats that you require instead.
