The Eagles came out of Saturday night's win healthy and could add another starter back to the lineup for the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers.
After holding a walkthrough on Wednesday, the Eagles announced their injury report:
Limited Participation
• T Lane Johnson - Groin
• CB Avonte Maddox - Toe
That's it.
Johnson returned to the lineup for the Divisional Round win after missing the final two games of the regular season. Maddox has been out for the past three contests, including the playoff win over the Giants.
Johnson played 67 snaps on Saturday and didn't allow a QB hurry, let alone a sack. This Sunday presents a tall task as Johnson will see snaps against All-Pro defensive end Nick Bosa.
In Maddox's absence, C.J. Gardner-Johnson has played the nickel cornerback spot with Reed Blankenship patrolling at safety. Gardner-Johnson played the nickel in his first three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, so it was, in some regard, a return to a familiar position.
The 49ers have not yet released their official injury report, but Head Coach Kyle Shanahan announced the following:
Will Not Participate
• QB Jimmy Garoppolo - Ankle
• RB Christian McCaffrey - Calf
• RB Elijah Mitchell - Groin
• WR Deebo Samuel - Ankle
Will Have Limited Participation
• CB Ambry Thomas - Ankle
Acquired midseason from the Panthers, McCaffrey amassed 1,210 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns with the 49ers. San Francisco has not lost since McCaffrey entered the starting lineup in Week 8, one game after he arrived.
Like McCaffrey, Samuel is a dual-threat with his ability to make plays in the pass game (56 rec., 632 yards in the regular season) and the run game (42 rushes, 232 yards). Mitchell was the team's third-leading rusher in the regular season with 279 yards.
UPDATE: There were some additions/changes to the pre-practice injury report.
Did Not Participate
• T Trent Williams - Rest
Limited Participation
• DE Charles Omenihu - Oblique
• WR Deebo Samuel turned out to be a limited participant with the ankle injury.
